He is also proficient in using a laser welder, the most modern repair technology available. He completed the GIA gemstone identification course in 1984, and earned the title of Gemologist. Since then, he has continued his education by attending GIA seminars on identifying synthetic diamonds, as well as other topics.

In 1997, he opened Henderson & Co. Jewelers, and has since specialized in on-site repairs, unique selection, and the manufacturing of custom jewelry.
